Regional Bio
The Adelaide Hills region is truly a gem with its quaint villages and beautiful countryside as well as being renowned for its fruit, cheese, salmon and venison produces.
The region stretches from the north along the border of the Eden valley where late ripening Shiraz and Merlot are stand outs, to the south where the cooler climate gives Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir its unique complexity and outstanding qualities.
The soils are predominantly grey to grey-brown loamy sands of low to moderate fertility. Most fall into the common south-east Australian family, and are well suited to viticulture.
There are about 50 brands produced in the Adelaide Hills.
